Last June, my colleagues and I had a nice night at a popular izakaya restaurant in Zhongshan district, Yakingtori 酒侍串說. One colleague mentioned that whenever she would pass by that restaurant, it was always full or there was always a wait line which was why we made sure to make a reservation before going. It was indeed full when we went there.
I realized later on that a lot of the photos I took are blurry, and I think it was because of my old iPhone whose camera performance started becoming terrible…
Anyway, we started by choosing sake, so they also let us choose our glasses. That was cute.
We ordered a bunch of food and they started to slowly arrive one after the other, and we dug in!
I forgot to post about this, and since it’s been a couple of months, I’ve forgotten the names of some of the dishes we ordered. Hee, oops. I’m just going to write down the ones I remember.
Beef tongue with salt & green onion 鹽蔥牛舌
Grilled neritic squid with salt 鹽烤軟絲
Grilled skewers (we ordered chicken & pork)
Deep fried cartilages 酥炸雞軟骨 (left)
In the middle are Crispy chicken skin 酥脆炸雞皮 (bottom) & Water bamboo 筊白筍 (top)
In the middle are Salmon grilled onigiri 鮭魚烤飯糰 (left) & Chikuwa with Cheese 起司竹輪 (right)
Deep fried giant oyster 酥炸大牡蠣
We ended the night with Plum Wine Ice Cream 梅酒冰淇淋, which was delicious!
Suffice to say that we enjoyed good food, good drinks, and good ambiance!

Yes it’s a bit small and the atmosphere’s good! It usually gets pretty crowded so make sure to have a reservation if you’re planning on going there 🙂
